We celebrated World Book Day by actually planning, writing and designing a book! Thought-out the week the children worked as part of a team. Each team choose an author, or 2, illustrators and a scribe. The team decided on a main character, a setting for the story, the story problem and the solution before giving it a 'catchy' title. Front covers were designed, blurbs were written and the stories were brought together, linking to our topic of Penguins.
After planning, writing a draft and editing, the children got to watch and enjoy their creation become a little book with the help of our school printer. The children have written 5 books in total, each with very different storylines.
I am so proud of you all boys and girls, a fantastic way to celebrate World Book Day with your very first little story book, the first of many no doubt.
