Finding out about the great - King Tut in Primary 6
18th Mar 2026
Primary 6 have been busy finding out about the boy king- King Tutankhamen who was actually a king at 9 years of age… and has left them wondering how could he have been so young?
We explored his life, death and burial through Literacy & World Around Us - using Wordsmith as well as interactive lessons looking at the pyramids and museums in Egypt.
Children wrote recounts of the life of King Tut and showcased these using the Just2Easy Programme. They also discussed and later engaged in diamond ranking of items most/least needed for the afterlife. Using safe search engines, they researched Egyptian pyramids and followed this up by making 3D pyramids to coincide with properties of 3 dimensional shapes in Numeracy.
