On Friday 15th March we were delighted to participate in an Irish Language GAA Blitz organised by Tempo Maguires GAC as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Mixed teams from each school played a series of games, with an onus on the use of our native language to communicate.
All teams thoroughly enjoyed their day, and all coaches and staff in attendance remarked on the high level of skill on display, as well as the enjoyment of children in using Irish language to communicate.
In a tight FINAL, St Mary's Tempo played magnificently to win against a strong St Ronan's team, with outstanding performances from Rua Breen, James Douris and Patrick McCusker in particular.
We are very grateful to Tempo Maguires GFC for the invitation to participate, and the refreshments on the day.
