Scoil Spreagtha Accreditation 2024

11th Jun 2024
This year we were so pleased to be involved in the Scoil Spreagtha programme, one of only 82 schools in Northern Ireland, and only 3 schools in County Fermanagh.

Mrs Fitzpatrick, our Primary 6 teacher, and an Irish Language enthusiast, used the Scoil Spreagtha and Leargas scheme of resources to introduce Irish Language and Culture to all classes, from Primary 1 through to Primary 7.

Weekly lessons (delivered by Mrs Fitzpatrick) became embedded as part of our enriched curriculum. Pupils and staff were encouraged to use a 'cuplá focal' throughout the day, and this soon became part of our daily routines.

This month we were delighted to receive the news that we have received official accreditation as a Scoil Spreagtha school, one of only 61 schools in Northern Ireland to receive this status.

On Monday 10th June we were invited to a celebratory event in Magee Campus, Derry, to receive the award. Our pupils were entertained with music and dance, and thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.

Massive congratulations to all our pupils and staff on receiving this award and status, and sincere appreciation to Mrs Fitzpatrick for all her hard work and effort in delivering the programme.

Maith sibh, gach duine!!! (Well done, everyone)
