Primary 5 have started learning about The Vikings. In class, we explored where the Vikings came from by studying maps to identify the Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Then, they explored where about’s they settled between Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
The children put their knowledge into practice by using Google Earth to locate the Viking homelands and settlements on a digital map. Children practised their geographical skills by dropping pins and labelling locations accurately.
