Primary 4 have had lots of fun this term focusing on chocolate! We were learning about where chocolate comes from and how it is made, including finding out some facts and information about the Ancient Maya Civilisation. Through ABL we enjoyed upskilling our mental maths using Freckle, we got creative making Christmas cards and Mayan masks, we were chocolate designers for Willy Wonka, we made escape routes on the marble run for Willy Wonka’s everlasting gobstoppers and we worked on our team building skills through playing a selection of board games. We also made our own chocolate bark, exploring how chocolate changes from solid to liquid and returns to solid again and how it will take the shape of the moulds it is poured into. After all of that we made hot chocolate and relaxed! We then tried a recipe for Maya hot chocolate, this has cinnamon and chilli powder in it, so the reviews were mixed.
