Primary 5 have been working really hard on our new 'Wordsmith' Literacy Topic 'The Iron Man' which just happens to tie in with our topic on Farming. They have engaged in lots of partner work - sequencing, roleplaying and creating their own Ice/Wooden/Fire/Water Man - using similes to describe it.
As a home/school link, P5 were asked to design a 3-dimensional Iron Man, using the description from Ted Hughes' storybook. We can only imagine how many hours have been invested in making these models which sit proudly in school. They demonstrate super creativity as children carried out scavenger hunts at home to find materials to recreate this frightful figure in our story!! A huge congratulations to the pupils and helpers at home, for their effort in producing such wonderful Iron men!
